i have to admit, even i didnt know to what extent affirmative action helps women and "other minority groups". affirmative action and the values it defends are things i take for granted. i can't imagine being discriminated against because of my gender or ethnicity, i've been lucky. but i also have the feeling that those opposing it are fighting a losing battle...maybe i'm too optimistic?

... but I really want to read this haha! I thought I was halfway to reading it, but I wasn't. Really interesting.

One thing got me...

"really? The Jews have faced a lot of prejudice. they dont seem to have a problem. Asians have been discriminated against. they seem to be doing fine. How immigrants people from third world countries, the worst off in America are still better off than billions worldwide."

I read it as "From my point of view because I'm not affected"
