[Scene] More Crazy Amnesia-Welly antics!

May 29, 2008 22:52

((This scene takes place right after this scene in which Matt confronts Mimi. It takes place before Redd's execution and Diego's release from prison.

Matt: *Stepping into the empty shower room (it was always empty
at this time in the day) with only a towel wrapped around his waist,
Matt doesn't glance back at the man behind him as he continues to stride
further into the room. Clearing his throat, he decides against brushing
his bangs back for now. Finding the silence to be too much for him, he
finally looks back at Wellington, his face still void of emotion after
having to deal with Mimi. Though things worked out well, he doesn't want
to think about it at the moment. He searches for something to say.* ...So,
anyone stop and talk to you in the hall while you were waiting for me,
dude?

Wellington: *shakes his head* The hallway was empty, except for
the red-haired girl. I wasn't too bored, though.

Matt: ...*Raises an eyebrow.* Find something to entertain you?

Wellington: *tilts head* Oh, no, I just took a light nap and
thought about what I'm going to do when I get out of prison.

Matt: ...Ah. That's cool then, dude. *Looks away, towards the
bench in the middle of the room before he walks over towards it.* What
do you want to do?

Wellington: *smiles at him for a moment before walking to one of
the empty shower stalls* Mostly I want to see things! I don't
remember what's out there. Anything could happen. ...I think I want
to try getting a motorcycle, all those posters you have make them look
fun.

Matt: *Allows himself a grin.* It is fun. Maybe I can teach you,
dude! Give you a few pointers!

Wellington: You would? That would be great! I guess you're the
expert. *brushes his long loose bangs out of his face and twists the
knobs and waits a moment for it to warm up to the desired temperature,
having figured out how to work the showers again earlier in his time
under amnesia*

Matt: *Nods before moving into his own stall, right next to
Wellington's. He also turns the knob and moves to the side to wait for the
water to heat up.* Yep, I sure am. *Pauses.* You should get a cat too.

Wellington: Okay, I'll do that too. *pauses* ....What's a cat?

Matt: *Rolls his eyes.* ...You remember the pictures I showed
you? Of Shoe? My pet?

Wellington: Oh, that's a cat. *nods quickly even though Matt
can't see him* I'll get a Shoe too. Everything you said about him makes
him sound amazing. *tests the water with his hand, then takes his
towel off and steps into it*

Matt: *Grins.* Shoe is amazing! But, you can't name your
cat Shoe! You have to think of a different name for it. Like...Mitten
or Sock or something like that.

Wellington: *laughs while the water runs down his face* Okay.
I'll get a Sock.

Matt: *Hears the other man laugh, his eyes widening slightly
when he realizes he has never heard Wellington laugh before. After a
moment, he chuckles with him before testing his own faucet's water. Tossing
his towel up to land on top of the partition, he steps under the water,
smiling.*

Wellington: *Enjoys the warmth of he water going over him for
awhile, humming tunelessly. As he turns to let the water hit his
backside, his foot bumps against something. He wipes the water away from his
eyelids and opens his eyes to look down, then picks up a plastic
container.* ...Matt, what's this?

Matt: *Opens his eyes and takes a step backwards out of the
spray of water.* Huh? *Pauses for a second before he moves out of the
stall, not even bothering to grab his towel.* What's what?

Wellington: *holds the bottle close to his face so he can read
it better* ...Shampoo? *looks up at Matt with a perplexed expression,
holding it out so Matt can see it*

Matt: *Stares at the bottle before he realizes that Wellington
doesn't remember things. He had almost forgotten that this
wasn't the real Wellington.* Oh, you use shampoo to wash your hair. ...
*His eyes widen suddenly.* H-Hey! Wait! Are you saying you haven't been
using shampoo this whole time, Welly?

Wellington: *blinks* What? I thought you wash with water.
*runs his fingers through his damp hair*

Matt: ...*Frowns, stepping forward.* Dude, just using water
doesn't really do anything. You've been using soap to wash at least,
right?

Wellington: *stares at Matt* Um... I wash my hands with
soap. ...So I should try using this stuff? *turns and looks at the
bottle again with a confused expression, turning it over to look at the
label on the back*

Matt: Yeah, you should. *Waits for Wellington to start washing
his hair.* ... *Tilts his head.* Are you confused or something?

Wellington: ........... *unscrews the cap and looks inside at
the contents* It... doesn't have instructions. Am I supposed to put it
on my face or something? *frowns at the thick opaque liquid sitting
inside*

Matt: ...*Rolls his eyes again before moving forward and roughly
snatching the shampoo bottle out of Wellington's hand. Without wasting
a moment he pours out a generous amount of shampoo on top of the other
man's head.* There. That's how you do it.

Wellington: *blinks a few times and tries to look upwards at the
blob of shampoo that's starting to ooze down the sides of his head*
Uh... okay, thanks Matt. *continues standing there, not sure if he
should touch his hair or not*

Matt: *Stands still until he sees the large glob of shampoo
about to drip down into Wellington's eyes. Telling himself he does
not want to listen to the other man whine about soap in his eyes, he
reaches out, stepping closer, and moves the shampoo back on top of his
head. With a hand now resting his head, he frowns.* Do you not remember
what you have to do next?

Wellington: *blinks again at Matt's action* There's more? *He
pauses, chewing on the inside of his lip as he thinks about it. Then
he shakes his head slightly under Matt's hand.* ...I can't remember.

Matt: *Glances around the room, glad to see it is still empty
before motioning to the bench in the middle of the room.* Here. I'll show
you this time, okay. Just so you learn it, but we need to at least get
out of the shower stalls. *Shaking his head, he removes his hand from
Wellington's head before he moves back to his stall, grabbing his
towel. Slipping it around his waist, he walks over to the bench, waiting for
the other man to come and sit down.*

Wellington: *stands still for a moment, watching Matt, then
picks up his own towel and puts it around his waist before following him to
the bench, hesitantly sitting down in front of Matt with his back to
the former actor, shoulders hunched uncertainly* ...Sorry, Matt. I've
been trying hard to remember things... but...... *shakes his head
again*

Matt: *His frown widens and he shakes his head.* Hey, it's not
that big a deal. I told you I would help out as much as I could, didn't
I? And, you know, you've been learning real fast too, dude! I'm, like,
totally proud of you.

Wellington: ... *sits up a little straighter* You think I'm
doing well? Even though I can't remember anything on my own yet?

Matt: Yeah! *Sets a hand on his shoulder.* I mean, you haven't
forgotten anything I taught you, right?

Wellington: No, I remember everything since waking up that day,
and everything you told me about. You've been a big help. *smiles
softly, looking down at the floor between his feet*

Matt: Good. And now you can learn something new. After putting
the shampoo on your head, you just got to lather it in. *Reaches up with
both hands, he pauses for a moment, looking to the shower room door
before he runs his hands through Wellington's hair. After a few short
moment he realizes it isn't that bad and he is just helping his
'friend'. Moving his hands around to lather up the shampoo, he grins to
himself.* See? This is totally easy and will really help your hair a lot.
Keep it healthy and shiny. *He scratches gently into the other man's
scalp, really working the shampoo in.*

Wellington: *holds his body stiffly as Matt begins, unsure of
what to do with himself, but after a moment of feeling the fingers
massage his scalp, he relaxes his shoulders* ...Yeah, it's not bad. *smiles
a little* I should take better care of my hair. ...How do you think
I got that streak in the bangs, though? Do you think it's from not
using shampoo?

Matt: *Laughs quickly as he continues lathering.* Nope. I think
you said something about bleaching it. Uh, which is like dying your
hair. You know, getting the color changed?

Wellington: Mmhmm. *closes his eyes, and after a long moment he
tips his head back slightly, leaning into Matt's fingers, enjoying the
subtle scrape of his nails* That's good to know... *his voice has
quieted so much that it can barely be heard above the hissing spray of the
two showers behind them*

Matt: *Gives Wellington one last scratch on the head before
removing his fingers.* There. Now you just have to wash it out in the
shower. Just make sure to wash all of it out.

Wellington: *When Matt removes his hands, Wellington remains
sitting loosely relaxed, as if Matt's words weren't even heard. He slowly
sways backwards until the backs of his shoulders touch Matt's abdomen,
and he lightly leans against the other man. After a couple seconds,
he shakes his head slightly and makes himself sit back up, then stand.*
Um... thank you, Matt. *rounds the bench, smiling lightly at him as
he passes by, then returns to his shower to rinse the suds out*

Matt: Totally, dude. *Flinches at the unexpected touch, but he
relaxes fast enough, knowing Wellington didn't mean anything by it.
Feeling a little out of sorts, he stands there, not even realizing that he
should return to his own stall.* That's what friends are for.

Wellington: *Dips his head back into the running water, running
his fingers through his hair while the water drags the foamy suds out
of it. After a moment, he lifts his head out and shakes a bit of the
water out so his wet hair loosens into clusters of damp strands. He
walks back to Matt and stands in front of him.* ...How's this? Did it all
rinse out? *looks up at the taller man for approval*

Matt: *Stands still, just staring at the top of Wellington's
head for the time being. He finally reaches out with a single hand, moving
it to run through the smaller man's hair again. His uncovered eye
squints as he inspects the hair for shampoo, but after seeing nothing, he
straightens, his hand falling to his side.* Um, totally good, dude! Look
at you! You got this showering thing down, huh? *Grins down at
Wellington.*

Wellington: Did you use shampoo, too? *looks at him with
curiosity and reaches a hand upwards towards Matt's hair*

Matt: *Flinches backwards before he shakes his head. The wet
bang of hair is annoying in his face, but he doesn't want Wellington to
see his scars. Then he might never stop asking about them.* Not yet. I
helped you before I could get to that.

Wellington: *withdraws his hands and continues looking up at him
passively, silent for a moment before he speaks again* Well... is
there anything I could help you with..? I like helping you.

Matt: *Stares down at him, an odd feeling hitting him as he
watches the other man. Wellington really does like helping him and
making sure he is happy. He actually cares how Matt feels. That felt
new... It has been a long time since anyone had cared that deeply about
him.* ...Hm. *Shifting in his spot, he tilts his head to the left,
regarding the smaller man.* Um...I don't know, dude...

Wellington: *blinks and wipes some of the moisture off of his
forehead-- the room is getting hazy with the steam from the two hot
running showers* ...I owe you a lot. You can ask me to do anything.
*gives him a small smile*

Matt: *Blinks slowly before his gaze moves from Wellington to
the room they are in. He realizes that because the showers have been
running for such a long time on such a hot temperature, the room has
finally filled with steam and just looking around the room makes him feel
dizzy. His knees shake involuntarily and he brings a hand up to his head.*
It's...a little hot in here, dude...

Wellington: Yeah... *lazily glances behind at the showers* Do
you want me to turn them off? I think I'm done showering... unless you
think I forgot to do something else. *brushes his damp blond section of
hair out of his eyes* ...Did I?

Matt: *Shakes his head to clear get rid of the dizzy feeling,
but it only increases. Quickly reaching out, he latches one hand onto
Wellington's shoulder to keep himself balanced.* Um...Still gotta soap up,
right? Clean...your arms and stuff.

Wellington: *The blond bang falls back over his eye, but he
doesn't bother to move it back again. He tiredly stares at Matt's neck,
not seeming to notice the hand on his shoulder.* ...Oh, right. I think
I can do that.

Matt: *Doesn't let go of his shoulder, his eyes flickering back
over to Wellington's face.* Good, dude. Don't wanna be smelly, right?

Wellington: *bites his lip and looks off to the side, his eyes
nearly closed* ...I still don't remember anything. That's why I need
you... to keep telling me.

Matt: ... *Pauses.* ...Don't worry, Welly. I won't let you down,
dude. I'm here. *He squeezes Wellington's shoulder reassuringly.* I
don't mind telling you anything. *He forces a grin despite the heat in
the room.* I like talking.

Wellington: *looks back up at Matt's face, his damp blond hair
still hanging over one gray eye, but his other eye blinks slowly at
Matt* ....So what do I like?

Matt: What do you...like? *Tilts his head to the side, looking
straight into Wellington's uncovered eye with his own.*

Wellington: *starts to nod, but his eyes close and he sways
slightly, though Matt's hand helps keep him from falling over*

Matt: *His hand tightens quickly to help keep the smaller man
balanced.* Welly? Dude, you okay?

Wellington: *nods again, speaking quietly* Just... really warm.

Matt: Maybe you should sit down, dude. *He presses down lightly
on Wellington's shoulders to get him to sit on the bench.*

Wellington: *Even though it's light, he wasn't expecting the
push, and his knees start to buckle, so he instinctively reaches forward
and grabs at Matt's upper arms. He breathes slowly, trying to clear his
head while hanging onto the other man's arms, fingers tensing
uncertainly. He pulls himself closer to Matt, trying to balance himself before
the dizziness overwhelms him, his face down as he concentrates on
breathing the thickly humid air.*

Matt: *His eyes widening quickly, he catches Wellington as the
smaller man collides into him. He releases his shoulders and moves to
instinctively wrap his arms around him to keep them both from falling
over.* Welly? *He pauses, listening to the other's heavy breathing. The
heat must really be getting to him.*

Wellington: *presses his forehead against Matt's chest* ...

Matt: *Sighs as he pulls Wellington closer, allowing him to rest
for a moment. His mind wandering as the two men continue to stand
there in the humid shower room, he closes his own eyes.* Dude, are you
okay?

Wellington: ...... *loosens his grip on Matt's arms, lifting his
head a bit to dizzily press his face against Matt's collar* ...Yeah.
I'm just......... *goes quiet without continuing his sentence*

Matt: *Feeling the other man bury his face into his neck, he
sighs again, the warmth of the room starting to feel very welcome. With
his eyes still closed, one hand slides up Wellington's back to the base
of his neck where it absentmindedly twirls a stray lock of the smaller
man's hair.* Relax, dude...

Wellington: *holds his breath at the feel of Matt's hand on his
neck, then turns his face to the side and blinks in confusion*
.......Matt?

Matt: *Hearing his name, Matt's eyes suddenly snap open and in a
quick instant he realizes just what he is doing. The shampoo,
the holding, the hair touching, it is way too much for the former
actor to take. In one swift motion, he shoves hard onto Wellington's
chest, attempting to get as much distance as possible between them. His
eyes grow wide as he looks around the shower, suddenly paranoid of any
other people that could be around. However, the room is still empty.
Glancing back to Wellington for a second, he grits his teeth and snarls
at the man.* Who put you up to this?! Was it Godot?! Redd? WHO? *Shaking
his head, he takes a step back, only to find his legs hitting the back
of the bench. Nearly falling over, he regains his balance and snarls
again. That was obviously not his fault. He was never that
clumsy! It was the heat! It was the showers! It was sad, forgetful
Wellington, but not him.* F-forget it! *He shakes again roughly to clear his head
of the thoughts that are now running through it.* I don’t care who it
was! You tell them that I said that they are crazy if they think I am
into THAT! And I could care less what they think! I’m Matt Engarde! I
can have whatever girl I want! I don’t need anyone- including you!
I…I…ARGH! *Turning around quickly, he sidesteps the bench and quickly moves
to the door, exiting the shower room. Raging, he slicks his hair back
and out of his face before crossing his arms over his chest. Matt
Engarde was not girly or sensitive and he certainly wasn’t gay.*

Wellington: *just remains sitting awkwardly on the floor where
Matt pushed him down, stunned and very confused, watching the other man
break down and run with wide eyes* ....What? *smooths his own hair
back with a shaking hand, then looks down at the floor* ...What did I
do..?

im really catching up, amnesia what?, gah so many posts sorry, shower
