It's so hard to get used to writing 2012
shiv5468 keeps pointing out that I don't post enough, but mainly that's because I lead a horribly uneventful life. However, I should try to make an effort, so I'll inflict the recent happenings on you (but only if you click the cut). Otherwise, you can skip my boring life. ;)
I survived the holidays, and I managed to acquire another cat. A stray that had been hanging around off and on since the summer finally moved in permanently. At present, his name is Little Bit or as shiv5468 and melisande88 have been referring to him: Mr Little Bit Fluffy. They lobbied for Fluffy, then Mr Fluffy, but I started out calling him Little Bit and now he comes when I call him that. Of course, the fact that I feed him when I call him may have something to do with it. ;) He's tabby brown with a white belly and legs. I thought he was gray for a while, but now that I've examined him more closely, he's really more brown. He's a neutered male that I suspect once belonged to the people who lived on the corner but who moved away during the summer. I hate that people abandon pets, and I don't know that's what happened, but the timing fits.
Kitty Boy is not happy that there's an interloper, but so far he's been tolerant since Little Bit stays in a house I made for him and tucked away under the back car port. I've been slipping around and feeding Little Bit when Kitty Boy is either asleep or otherwise occupied. I'm trying to avoid an outright confrontation as long as possible, but I know that Kitty Boy is aware of Little Bit's presence. They've done that feline "I'm ignoring you even though we're laying here in the sun side-by-side" thing before during the summer, and a few minutes ago, Little Bit laid out in the front yard while Kitty Boy eyed him from the front porch.
I've also been working on tagging all of the Autumn 2011 sshg_exchange entries, but I'm limiting myself to just a few each day so that I don't get too bored doing it, and I've been plugging away at the date chapter for Harvey for kerravonsen. The story needs that date chapter, but unfortunately Snape just stopped talking to me before I got it finished. He's being recalcitrant still, but it's slowly taking shape.
I've also been outlining ideas for original fic. I figure, why not do it? It can't hurt to give it a shot. All I have to lose is a little time and some effort, right?
