boo! you should leave a day early, obviously :P at least the drive through tennessee is pretty, at least umtil you're a couple hours west of memphis. then it is flat and boring.

omg pink lemonade cupcakes sound so good.
i loooove tn and am planning on moving there, eventually, but to memphis not nashville....although your awesome looking bars might sway that decision a little.

omg, nashvile is far superior to memphis. by like, a thousand. all memphis has is BBQ and overpriced graceland. you can buy elvis merch in nashville, and memphis is only like 3 hours away if you *really* want that BBQ ;)

i don't think i've ever actually been to nashville... my grandparents used to live right outside memphis and i always just loved it there and had an awesome time visiting. and basically anywhere i can live that's cheaper than where i live now is where i want to be.
but i'm a vegetarian so i'm not even going to be able to enjoy the bbq:(

i'm not sure about the price differences between nashville and memphis, but i'm pretty sure that memphis is cheaper. i know the median income is lower. but the south is stupid cheap anyway, especially if you're a-ok with living in trashier areas - there are some parts of nashville where you can rent an entire house for like, $500.

i bet you can just dump some of that delish BBQ sauce on non-meat things! do they use meat products in BBQ sauce? i've never considered that.

sometimes i wish i lived on printer's alley. not because of the nightlife, but because the upper apartments there look like they belong in downtown new orleans, and i think they are beautiful :D

I agree! We walked that area about a month ago when we were in Nashville for our 1-year wedding anniversary. It's such a neat little area! :D

The Parthenon was built as the centerpiece for the 1897 World's Fair. Nashville had the nickname "Athens of the south"

so now ya know.

To piggyback, the nickname "Athens of the South" is due to the number of universities in the area.

i actually knew that ;) i just thought it was funny that they kept it around for so long. apparently they had a bunch of other structures that were built for the fair, but the parthenon was the only one that stuck around.
