i leap from the cockpit of your floated smile, then bite off my parachute with the one tooth the wrecking ball left me. . .the ground just gets bigger as i fall.
i just finished a new song that you'll have to hear upon your return that opens with the lines:
"if there is no air / will the lungs collapse / if there is no love / will the heart give out / a girl with a harp will make you cry / a girl dressed in burlap will steal, steal your eyes..."
it has a very manic lullaby feel to it...almost like running in place
sort of. . .though i still don't have my laptop back, it's easier to get to the computer lab now that both my legs are working. and i goofed on Sunday - went to my Russian family's town in the mountains and didn't have as many minutes on my phone card as i had thought. apparently it eats time faster when munching on a cell phone connection. when is a good time to try again? i'll have random moments this afternoon when i could dial you, but later tonight i'm tied up rehearsing for a concert. sorry a simple chat has been so hard to pull off. i'm living in a primitive country, you know. i'm so excited about getting a letter from you! you'll hear from me soon, dear - one way or another.
