(0005) scheherazade poses a philosophical question;

Tell me, Tales, which is more foolish: Murdock Varletti, or taking him seriously?

If I hear of any riots, duels, or general animosity between any of my Tales and the Aesopeans due to Murdock's prolific tendency towards mischief, I may very well have to laugh the offending parties out of our eccentric little community. Honestly.

That's a trick question!

Neither options are foolish in the least.

As you would have it.

Well, if anyone's going to be an authority on all things Murdock, I humbly suggest myself.

My credentials are excellent!

Don't you think you might be a bit biased?

I don't take him seriously.

If you of all people did, I wouldn't know what had become of the world!

Does he take himself seriously?

That's a very good question. I'm inclined to believe that he does, but you never know.

He's making us all look bad, Velvet! I still think someone is needed for damage control. You know, sort of like Arabic PR.

Do you really need an excuse to have lunch with Aesopeans? Murdock hardly represents us as a whole - that's my job.

Yes, but Murdock is much more vocal than you. He's probably the most recognized Arabic tale, if only because he won't shut up.

Oh, I don't know. You're pretty vocal yourself - I think you must already negate some of whatever damage Murdock does. No titles or responsibilities needed!

I feel that may be impossible to say.

[Private]

Please do not misunderstand. My challenge was offered only in a spirit of fun. I don't wish for any riots, duels or animosity. I leave any punishment he may someday require in what I am sure are your very capable hands.

Oh, not impossible, I don't think. In more general terms, I'd think a fool that believed another fool would be the more foolish of the two.

[Juliette]

I would be forced to call into question what ancient merit the Aesopeans have garnered if your post was in anything but jest. Of course, Tales in general tend to be rather reactionary, and the more fuss - in fun or no - that's made over something, the more mountainous the molehill.

Perhaps. It is very good logic.

[Velvet]

This is also very true. [...] I apologise for adding to the crazy.

No apology necessary, although I appreciate the sentiment.

If he does accept your challenge, try not to bruise his ego too much, please. He'll work all the harder to build it back up if you do.

Murdock's an idiot. Don't know how this is news.

I almost forgot about you.

I really should throw up an addendum admitting that there are exceptions to Arabic awesomeness. I'd hate for someone to cite you in the future and have it seem like I was defending you in anyways.

In fact, I officially renounce you on behalf of the Arabics! You can go be the Aesopeans' Cockroach or something!
