1:55am Turkish time

Mar 19, 2005 15:55

At dawn this morning I woke up to the sound of a muslim prayer call blaring through my window overlooking the entire city of Ankara. It was not possible for anyone to not hear the minaret blasting the song through the loudest loudspeaker I've ever encountered. It is like no noise I have ever heard before in my entire life. I cannot even begin to ( Read more... )

Kaela,
That sounds magical. I'd love to see some pictures!
I've been served a whole fish over here in Japan, too, but they didn't dissect it for me and I crunched on a lot of bones :p Hehe... Anyway, I am so glad to hear that you are enjoying your time with your dad.

Hi Ruth!
Thanks so much for the package you two sent over. That was so thoughtful of you guys. Casey turned into a 11 year old when he saw the robot kit, which is now proudly displayed next to his anthologies and a picture of us. You'll have to give us your address so we can send somethings out to you. We are planning on applying to Jet this September and trying to learn as much Japanese as possible.
Hope you two are doing well.

I didn't even know you were going to Turkey... maybe that's why I can't get ahold of you. You have got to be one of the most impulsive people I have ever met in my whole life - maybe that's why I can't stop loving you. I'm glad you like it, I've wondered what it's like in places like that right now. Don't people get mad because you're American? Anyway, the boyfriend is getting ready to propose, he thinks he's being sneaky, but it's awfully hard to sneak something that big past someone who knows you so well and who you happen to be living with... I've already ruined the element of surprise. Please don't stay in Turkey forever!!! I really, really, really want you to come if we do. (If we do get married it'll be this fall) Anyway, I love you, hope you're doing good. Sorry this is disjointed. I'm very, very tired (but not pregnant) Call me when you get back and tell me all about it, I want to hear about a place that's normal. It's tough to get perspective when you live in an itty bitty town in Utah =)
