So what gets a post this week? It's a movie, can you guess?

Indy 4? Well, I (almost) enjoyed the shit out of it despite the critics and the crowd. But no.
Ironman? Well, decent start to a franchise but we know that doesn't always work. Though another no.

What tickled my fancy tonight, and perhaps the best $11 spent so far this year?

Consider yourself warned! )

girls, movie

What an unexpected, delightful post. Mum and I checked out the film on Saturday; first we had lunch and got sloshed on riesling (one glass each, mum and I are very cheap drunks).

Audience gender ratio: three men to forty women. Did you notice the instances of where the soft-core pornography scenes appeared? It's as though the writers calculated, "Right, the men will be on the brink of killing themselves here, here and here. Yes, exactly, what we need is Monica Mayhem and her breasts, which appear to be bent on world domination."

No surprise it's raking in buckets of money; the film delivered exactly what one would expect, assuming they'd watched the TV show. Was a lot of fun.

Fuck Titanic. That film is so irritating.

I'm still very confused: I keep thinking that a straight single guy who can actively watch Sex and the City (not just tolerate or stare at begrudgingly) would be like a diamond in the rough, a prized rarity, an endangered species to be coddled.

Though I do admit that in my case, this novelty appears to have been translating poorly, resulting in a mix of the "nice guy/good friend" syndrome with some "probably doesn't realise he's gay" observations.

Oh well, guess I'll have to butch it up some.
