We got a puppy. His name is Kumo, which means either spider or cloud in Japanese. Merlin, while not yet at Death's door, is grumpy and smells bad, like vomit, almost all the time, even after a bath. We got this puppy through an ad in the paper. For some reason, as I was reading the Star Tribune, I clicked on "cute puppies." Then I scrolled down to

As for Merlin, I would consult with your vet. They can give you a better idea of what to look for regarding quality of life issues.

Kumo is wonderful...we can't wait to meet him.

I don't know what to do about Merlin...although I know they can't speak, I think he will let you know when he is ready to go.

While I am more of a cat person, it can be a similar problem.

I just asked my cat to tell me when it was time. There was no question when the time came.
