It was very good, wasn't it? I don't think the Doctor does sleep - I think the console room is "his" room... :) The River reference was intriguing - have no idea what it means yet, except yeah, looks like we're going back to the Library at some point...
Well, "Sleep is for tortoises," I suppose. Perhaps I am thinking too humanly...
I'm really enjoying this series, so far. I think there might be cursing and gnashing of teeth when the inevitable and terrible cliffhangers rolls around in two episodes. -_-
But, come to think of it, "SitL/FotD" are the first episodes we get the whole "Time can be re-written motif..." And if I know the Grand Moff (which I don't, at least on a personal level), I bet he's playing a long game.
Although I think Three was sleeping in The Time Monster, wasn't he...? Hmmm
But yes, that long wait is going to be a bit hard to take, I think...
I think it will all come full circle in the end, but I suspect there will indeed be a bit of time-rewriting/retconning going on, because I'm sure Moffat didn't have it all mapped out in full detail at that early stage. Or did he? ;D
He's slept in the series- we've not seen it in new Who but it was in old Who. I remember Two sleeping and Four sleeping (and snoring). I think he's more like many geniuses- like Edison- who slept oddly, putting it off when busy. He probably has alternate means of er... well, we'd call it regenerating but that means something different to a time lord-- of restoring his body, sleep being one option. He has, on the show, slept, though- so that's canon
