Today (last night, really) marked the first day of inescapably nasty December Michigan weather. It's going to be cold, cold, cold, and I'm deathly afraid I may have to spend the next four months hiding under the blankets, drinking tea or hot chocolate, and catching up on my reading.

I have a ten-mile bike commute. About eight miles of it is on a nice bike trail, and after dusk, the last three miles have FIREFLIES.
