This is Austin, Texas...and it's been kind of busy, so I apologize for another humungous gap in the story line ( Read more... )

Allow me to say how proud I am of both you and Sarah for pledging to quit smoking. Are you going cold turkey? I know it will take lots of time and won't be easy, but knowing you two, you'll pass this test with flying colors.

I am hoping to come for your wedding. My finals (at American University...you know I'm going there right?) are December 15-21st, so what I'm going to do is ask my professors if I can somehow take all my finals in the first three days. I really hope they let me.

Anyway, you can come by and use my shower anytime. It was great to see you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

I hope you can come to the wedding, too. Congrats on American U! You'll do fine there, and I'm very happy for you. If you can make it, you'll have to stuff Mary and Oli in your suitcase and bring them, too.

Thanks for the kind words on the smoking, or lack thereof. I've been anchoring in morning drive this week, so I've been in a pressure cooker all week, but I haven't cracked once. (Tempted is another matter, but we're both smoke-free for four days now!) Bon voyage, and now I have to get a job at the Voice of America, so you'll have more family close by.

It's sad that I won't be able to make it to your wedding...you should so have it in Africa. ;) You should post pictures of the wedding online when you get a chance, so I can feel a little more like I was there.

And you two are amazing for committing to quit--Teresa said you've been using her for her Costco card to buy patches. ;) I wish you the best of luck with this!
