Yes, saw The Matrix Revolutions tonight, but then again, who hasn't? I would have been left extremely disappointed by the movie, but I hadn't gone in with high expectations to start with. So.....it met all of my expectations ( Read more... )

It wasn't crappy, you expected it to top the original, something impossible. It ended the series that's all. it did it in the only way that it could.

It's far from an impossible task to top the original Matrix. It's a feat performed every other weekend when decent movies come out. I personally feel that this one topped the original, and was my favorite of the series. Not to say that it was good, merely an ok, 2 star movie as was the rest of the series ( ... )

Damnit, why do people say I'm anti-effects? I loved Gladiator, which generated nearly all of its backgrounds with effects. I loved the Lord of the Rings, which made all of its castles with computers. I thought that the greatest part of Revolutions was the battle between the sentinels and humans in robot suits, which was almost totally a computer generated scene that lasted a half hour. I don't dislike special effects, I just dislike it when directors overuse them drastically and the whole movie is a 2 hour long computer generation (with the exception of toy story and the like).

yeah but did you see the original hulk movie. It blew. A big body builder cant come near what the special effects created.

And steve look you and i and everyone else knows you dont know shit about good directing. Basically you wanted an action movie and got some talk so your pissed. Yeah it was cliche stereotypical philosophical ass but the basic point is that you were expecting the wrong things from this movie.

Really if you look at it the first one didnt have that much action besides the lobby scene and end fight. Oh and when you go back and look at it the philosophical elements of the first movie were pretty ass too its just the storyline itself was original not its philosophical implications. People expected the new ones to be original and they were mistaken because..................................SEQUELS ARENT ORIGINAL, THAT IS WHY THEY ARE SEQUELS

I normally would defend myself on the not knowing how to direct part, but now actually, I admit I know nothing about it. If the story-boarder chooses all of the shots, the writer tells the story, and the cameraman shoots everything, what the hell does the director actually do?? From what I've gathered....he just sits there and screams into a megaphone to tell everybody what to do, occasionally getting up to rant at the actors for not doing something right. Seems like a bullshit job....
And as I said, I wasn't going in with high expectations for Revolutions, so I wasn't let down so bad. I thought it was the best of the series, despite the nonsensical answering a question with another question dialogue.
