I know Bewing well enough to say the two of us have no interest in suppressing anything. The Reagan movie may have been unfairly vicious but the only response should have been a debate, not shutting it down and relegating it to cable.
Here's the deal with this movie that gets me. The left-democrat-liberal spectrum(whatever label you wanna put on it) waves a flag that declares them to to be the open-minded voice of unbridled free expression. They're the ones who don't censor stuff, that's for close minded conservatives, right? Well, that would be incorrect. The left has run with that con for ages, and they have a track record that proves it's a lie. I frequently disagree with many conservatives pundits on some issues, but it regards to "culture wars" they've always been more honest about what they don't want in the media, where the liberal side of the fence plays an elitist little game out what they consider free speech worth saving. Keep focused on the fact the party that states "openmindedness" in it's platform is trying to shut

Ditto, of course. I think I am most disgusted though, about the fact that the Democrat/liberal/left (whichever) are so gleeful about dishing out trash on their current let's-demonize-some-Republican-figurehead (Reagan, Newt, Shrub)-- but they just can't even begin to take it in return. It's soooooo hypocritical.

When will we quit politicizing a true threat to our way of life? The Republicans are not the enemy, the Democrats are not the enemy, The TERRORISTS are the enemy. This Docudrama has been the target of people who are embarrassed by their role in the whole tragedy of 9/11 by their inactivity in catching them and stopping their activities. We have been under attack for more than a decade. These people do not want to negotiate or coexist with the western world. They want to kill us and do away with Western culture. They torture, they kill, they suppress free speech, they stone women to death, they use women and children as suicide bombers, their totalitarian view of the world is the complete opposite of ours. In OUR world this 99% true Docudrama and Michael Moore's propaganda can both be shown and coexist. Keep an open mind, that's one of our freedoms that you would never have if we don't persue this war at all costs.

Good question -- but as a pragmatist, and considering that the Cold War, World War 2, the Great Depression, World War 1, the Civil War, and the issue of Slavery were all politicized back to day 1 of the existence of this country -- the answer is clearly "never".
> In OUR world this 99% true Docudrama and Michael Moore's propaganda ...
Um ... to the best of my knowledge, Moore's stuff was a 99% true Docudrama, too? And flaming propaganda, of course. Your sentence just made it sound like they were different. It's easy to completely slant a 99% true Docudrama by omission and implication, certainly.

That's a good point about former wars. There has been dissension in every conflict. In a diverse society/world we're never going to all agree. Good historical perspective teaches us that we may not know the whole truth about the present problems in our life time if ever and the winners write the history books

Wait a minute, I thought that ABC was part of the liberal/Jewish media. Did you know that statistically speaking you're much more likely to die from electrocution than terrorism? So I say screw the war on terror, let's have a war on electricity.
