Busy day?
[ when she calls to tonks, she is pulling a blanket up to a sleeping patient's chest. it probably looks strange to someone that doesn't know her daily activity in the clinic - like something too maternal for a woman as controlled as shirley, like she is incapable of it. or maybe just chooses to not do. ]
Reply
No, not really.
[ It's the truth at any rate. Her day had been disappointing and sad. ]
Reply
But you left.
[ leaving doesn't mean it was busy; leaving means it was successful, for all the disappointment. ]
Reply
[ She is still so quick to anger and it shows on her face. Wankers. Tonks knows that they were just things but they were her things! ]
Reply
I suppose you do not need my telling that it was wise, regardless?

You have remained here long enough. Perhaps you should earn your keep now.
Reply
[ Tonks takes a backwards step. ]
I'll just collect my things and be gone.

[ she meant stay. work. get paid. have money to buy new things. gosh. apparently, clearing up the misunderstanding by saying so is too hard. or something. shirley, jesus. ]
Reply
[ Why so difficult Shirley? Why so dumb Tonks? ]

There are things in need of repair. Your magic is of use for that, no? Or are you a better healer than Remus?
[ clasping her hands together, she moves to start walking. ]
Reply
I'm better at repairing things.
[ There is not much that she's better at than Remus, whatever he says. ]
Is something broken? I can use a repairing charm on it, if you like.
Reply
How you repair this clinic is your own discretion.
[ congrats, tonks?? you have a job. ]
Reply
[ Tonks is doubtful Shirley, very doubtful. ]
Reply
[ just take the job, jeez. ]
Reply
[ She's stubborn and defensive, sheesh Shirley. ]
