Holy fuck. Chief Justice William Reinquist just died. W is going to have two appointments to the supreme court. I'm not sure how to take this. I'm glad that the republicans will have the influence in the court now [I know Reinquist was a conservative but didn't he uphold Roe v. Wade?] but I haven't been a big fan of the SC governing policy. Today was cool. I used an ATM for the first time. Watching the money fall from the machine was thrilling on a small scale. Then I went to lunch with my sister and her friend. We hung out there at the chinese place eating and playing cards. It was really a fun time. -

I suppose going to a kick ass concert last night is worthy of an update. Iowa Western Community College's radio station 89.7 The River (the only good radio station in Omaha) had their 10th anniversary show last night. They brought in Omaha native's 311 to headline the show. I like 311's music in a lukewarm fashion so I wasn't there to see them. ( Read more... ) -

Today was my mom's birthday. I played golf with my cousin [shot a handy little 78] and then headed downtown to have lunch for Mom's birthday. We ate at this place called Big Daddy's Diner. It was nice and the food was good but I might as well have just taken in the cholesterol intravenously. I had what they call a Big Daddy burger which is a 1/2 lb ( Read more... )
