I am so very happy for you! That must be a fantastic feeling!! I am a bit worried about how things will go if I do ever get a degree and try to get out there for a job in teaching. But I am not going to let my mind harp on it. I have too much on my plate right now to add a teaspoon of anything else.
I hope your new position turns out to be everything you hope for in a job.
I'll be in the sucky sucky sucky, we're gonna be taken over by the state any minute now district of - you guessed it, NASHVEGAS!
That's where the in-laws live (Mt. Juliet, so neighboring Wilson County) and among nearby counties it's about the highest pay and about ten light years ahead of most of its neighbors in terms of accepting applications and info via email and electronically. Most handle nearly everything in person or through the mail so if I really truly hate it I can move along next year. But I already teach at a Title I (poor socio-economic neighborhood) school in an urban district having trouble making AYP and all that jazz so I don't think it'll be any big change.
WHOOHOO! Welcome to Nashvegas! Hope you enjoy it here! I see Lorileilee has introduced you to some of the highlights of Nashville, and as a New Yorker who moved to the South, Nashville is a pretty cool town. We will all have to go out to the Lipstick one night!
