  • I am not playing Diablo III. I don't have much time for a new game at the moment (which is also why I'm not playing The Old Republic), but I'm pretty sure I could have found some intermittent pockets of time... if not for the fact that the game's DRM requires constant online connection, even for solitaire play, making it vulnerable not only to the ( Read more... )

This is one of the things I find irritating about Steam. You can't play a game you've legally bought through Steam unless you're also online to verify the purchase. You can turn on offline mode, but you need to be connected to the Internet to be able to do that (at least, you had to last time I tried). >.< Makes me miss Direct2Drive, there was none of this DRM nonsense. GOG.com is pretty cool, too, though with a smaller catalog. That being said, on the whole, I adore services like Steam.

had fun making that. more Lynch/GRRM jokes on the way.

oh and HINTS? the mere existence of hints is a hint in itself. and I am overjoyed by the shadow of the glimmer of their existence. really, work has been kicking my ass lately, and now I get to walk into the work site tomorrow with a ridiculously goofy smile on my face. my workweek just stopped sucking.

Okay, I have to share this, because last night I had a dream in which I read the next LJ post:
    - Scott Lynch is writing Republic and Thorn simultaneuosly and releasing both in a one year period.
    - Tied to this: The Gentleman Bastard goes on as a television show - hence the GRRM-reference: similar book/season approach.
    - The release of Book 3 and 4 is tied because they are really one big story arc, besides this gives Scott time to prepare for a more frequent output. He also will need to catch up on the TV-series.
    - The TV-series is produced either by AMC or HBO.
    - There will be a viral marketing campaign similar to Game of Thrones.

Don't worry. When he dies of a heart attack I'm sure you'll be among the first his wife calls to help finish Ice and Fire.

    Just kidding, George!
