So tonight I was over at my dad's. After a delicious dinner,* chicken piccata, steamed broccoli with sauteed mushrooms a la Cheri, roasted new potatoes with garlic and rosemary....and homemade whole wheat rolls** we were visiting while reading the paper(dad); knitting (me); and watching A&E (both of us.) That sounds like Ann Gerrolds, the NPR reporter. She was the only American journalist to stay in Baghdad during the siege. She did a report that went almost exactly like that - she was standing on an overpass when the American tanks came rolling in to the city and when someone spotted her, she found herself looking into the tank's gun and shrieked rather hysterically "I'm an American! Don't shoot me!" (She had her recorder on and didn't reenact it for her audience, she just played it.)

I should be dieting too. And someday I am going to figure out a recipe for chicken piccata that doesn't have ANY calories. Or fat. Or carbs.

Sheesh...what exactly are we supposed to be avoiding these days? I can never keep track.....
