You could try looking at Nostradomus's book. I have a copy. Or, you could ask Renata, she knows a lot about the history in the bible. I think the wrath of god idea is bullshit, but I also think a lot of Christians believe that they are the chosen people because they have Jesus in their hearts. When I was studying the new testament, a lot of what they were trying to express was that the old rules were being changed into a Christ-based religion focusing on brotherly love and all that. It's funny that they are yet agian reverting back to the old testament (it the wrong context, because Jesus is not wrathful, nor are his ideas) because their narrowminded, change-fearing hearts full of Jesus irony want to explain away the terrible things that are happening in the world today and feel that they are exempt from all of it because their god is in heaven protecting them from the scary gays and natural disasters. But last time I checked America wasn't hte only place wiht Christians. They forget Jesus was a prostitue-loving revolutionary

Fuck the "Wrath of God"scottumusMay 10 2006, 16:56:04 UTC
If i ever have the opportunity to cite "They forget Jesus was a prostitue-loving revolutionary working for religious freedom as well as social change" I am going to take adavantage of it.
I agree, i think generally they are ignoreing some aspects of the situations while exaggerating others. Conveniently using any situation to their political/religious cause.
I haven't read the bible cover to cover either, but isn't their a difference between the flood and rain of fire? Or did God promise never to destroy again?
a ring of fire...scottumusMay 10 2006, 19:55:00 UTC
uh, yeah, forgot to mention that even though God said no more water, He never promised that the world wouldn't be destroyed with fire. That's why a lot of people believe that when the world ends, if it ends, then it will likely end in an atomic explosion. Of course the explosion would be technically man, not God.
Good grief. Now my head hurts. Thinking about all this could drive one mad. I need a drink.
