Their friendship really was an odd one. Most friendships started out with an interesting meeting, finding someone who had similar interests to your own, things like that. This friendship had started out as pity, a mutual dislike for a bunch of kids, and had spread from a stolen car and a trial or two. Throw in a war, a car-tank like no other, and some coconuts, and you have one of the most unusual - and more stable - friendships on the island.

"You have the coconuts?" Phoenix asked the black hedgehog as his jet shoes that did in fact fit landed him in the center of their favorite spot ( ... )

It had slipped out. She hadn't even been listening to her red haired friend when she'd said it. It wasn't her fault they were talking about a very distracting topic! It was all Kallen's fault, Mion decided, but now was not the time for finger pointing, unfortunately. That was easy.

"W-What are you talking about? I didn't say anything about him!" Hands flew up as if to block the accusations.

"Oh yes you did! You said you think that self centered, conceited guy is--" Maybe it was time for finger pointing - there was one in her face now.

Of course, cue the finger being smacked away. "I did not! This old man thinks you're hallucination, Kallen, all I would have said was that he's fun to hang around! You know, maybe you should sit down--"

"I am sitting down!" Now arms were crossed and excuses were running out. "And he's not fun, either."

"I... I wasn't even listening to you!" she finally admitted, pointing outside. "Because... ah... he walked by ( ... )

This... This was the last time he would forget to bring his evidence to trial with the .hackers. And the last - and only - time he would ever do community service. 40 hours babysitting psychotic children was more punishment than being in another trial with those kids could ever be.
