LJ Idol Week 8: First World Problem

The light from the setting sun dances on the water. The younger children run screaming and laughing in and out of the waves. I sit on the sand, idly tracing patterns in it with the tips of my fingers and watching my younger sister out in the water with the other children. Nothing ever stays the same does it. Going back to cities I haven't been to in five years I'm surprised by how different they are, I'd imagine they'd be utterly unrecognizable 67 years later. Being a rather nostalgic person I think I'd be quite sad about that.

Sadly, nothing ever does stay the same. I'm a rather nostalgic person myself, and I know I'm sad when I return to places after five or ten years and see how much they've changed, and not usually for the better.
