Success (or what keeps me awake until the wee hours of the morning)

How do you define success?

Do you define it differently when you look at your friends or family to when you look at yourself?

*EDIT TO CLARIFY*

I don't define success just thru career. It covers all aspects of one's life.

I'm always harder on myself. I'm more accepting of everyone elses status and accomplishments than i am of my own.

yes, me too. When I look back at my career, I think I've done okay though. I was able to stay home with my daughters when they were small, so I've only been in the workforce for 7 or 8 years. On the other hand, I'd like to be doing better b/c I am 35 and all.

When I look at my accomplishments as a spouse, I am very dissapointed. I feel like I should be in a much better place in my relationship for my age. If I wasn't married, I might think differently. I look at most people that are single as being "smart" about their choices in a partner, and that they didn't settle for a mediocre relationship.

I don't think this makes any sense at all, now that I read it through again.

ARGH!

I see your point. . . but remember, success in a relationship is dependent on 2 people. It ain't all you, babe. {{{HUGS}}}

I suppose, when looking at and branding other people as successful, I use their job titles and/or positions in life. But the most "successful" person I know, is miserable, so what does that mean?

I think success in life covers a variety of areas. . . but my main judge of success is whether or not I'm content. There's always things I'd like to improve upon, but for the most part, I'm pretty content.

Of course, if John Taylor would just come to his senses already. . . :D :D :D j/k
