WA State is trying get this onto the Fall Ballot!! (I-957) that states that you have to have children within 3 years of your wedding or your marriage doesn't 'count' and you aren't eligible for marriage benefits.

No, they aren't actually serious. It's a "counterpoint" to the right-wing conservatives that are saying you have to be a man and woman to be married and raise kids.

So these guys are saying, OK then...if you have to be a man and women to raise kids, then if you are allowing them to be married they better follow the law and start spitting out babies!!

Kinda clever, I think. heh.

So, by the same logic if you were to have a child out of wedlock and not be married within three years... uhhmm, the child wouldnt count?
