Yeah, I'm writing this down now so I will be able to gloat when I'm right and laugh when I'm wrong. It's subject to change until I actually read the book. This will be a very long post, and it will be only Harry Potter predictions, so if you're not interested there's no point in reading any further.

No, it's just a theory.

I think he did though. It would only add to his hatred of James, and it would give him incentive to pass information to Dumbledore to prevent Voldemort from killing her son. But I don't think JKR has said anything confirming it, and it's definately not shown in the books. In fact, he called her a mudblood once, but that could just be him covering up his feelings. And I'm not sure he was even in love with her, she seems like the type of person who could be respected by a lot of different kinds of people.
