For those of you who noticed: I removed a LOT of people from my friends list recently. It's nothing personal. I hardly ever check LJ anymore and when I do there are only a handful of entries that I read so.. yeah.. that's all. I'm on facebook if you want to add me there - "christopher brooks brown".

Well, for one thing - if you don't want to read someone's stuff you can simply "hide" them instead of rudely unfriending them. That way you can still check in on them when you want to, but in the mean time you don't have to ready 33984762 meme posts and twitter updates.

Also it has fun games which is like catnip to us gamer-y types. Mostly it's a lot of people yapping idly about nothing - sort of like going out in public without leaving your house. It gives you the illusion that you've, like, "interacted" or something.

I think, in the future, everyone will be homeless but we'll all have i-phones and we'll live under overpasses and twitter and facebook each other all day until our brains turn to sludge.

I go through every 6 months or a year and tend to remove anyone from my LJ friend list who hasn't posted in a long period of time (usually a year). I get so few comments nowadays that I have little idea who still uses LJ. It's actually made it a "safer" journal place since I can write almost anything without worrying about offending anyone, but there's no audience any more.

For my part, I'm glad to see you still plugging away on here :)

I don't post that much anymore, really, partly because I've had less computer time and partly because I just don't have a lot to say (or maybe I can't find the words). Things nowadays pretty much leave me speechless. I don't want to just gripe about stuff. I do still read LJ, though, and have to give lots of kudos to the folks who post here regularly. It's more of a quiet, reassuring murmur. There's comfort in knowing that some people are still thinking and feeling and taking time to express themselves.
