~~~~Tis a complicated matter that it is... It seems as if I don't have enough hours in the day to get all my classes in. I've been hearing I'm too caught up in my future and that I can't enjoy life as it is now. so i'm going to ask you all if I'm really "taking too much on my plate ( Read more... )
chrissssaaaah, my busy little beaver (haha) take some time off and live a little! i envy your ambition, and i think colleges will definitely appreciate your extra currics, like cross country, track, and volunteering (volunteering scores biiiig points!) however junior year is your most important, and it looks like your plate will be full then. you sound like you wanna be pretty busy senior year, but here's an idea: get all the good, tough shit out of the way during junior year (AP classes, volunteering, sports...because they want well-rounded peeps) and apply for early acceptance to a few second tier (or first tier) colleges. if that works out, you could kinda chill senior year and you could mebbe get an unscheduled 8th and take one college course during your free time in the day, since you will have another hour every day. you don't want to work too hard senior year and completely burn yourself out; you'll be under enough pressure preparing for college itself. ooh! and just rereading, DO PEER LEADERSHIP. however, i know a lot of ( ... )
haha yeah.. that WAS A long post... however extremely helpful.. you're right i might burn myself out senior year, and anticipating that i have decided to probably drop AP English and give myself more lee way there, seeing as I am not planning on majoring in anything English oriented..and as you suggested I am only going to take Jobs during the summer, and they will be EASY jobs, including life guarding and park district stuff. you are extremely helpful!!! i think i also might consider dropping some of my other hard core classes senior year, to make room for track and XC whichare my true passions! tee hee.. besides you. you are the greatest!!! thank you sooo MUCH!!!
well, im taking pretty much the same classes minus peer leadership. i had a terrible PL experience, my match sucked, and i didnt like my group yaddy yadda. but some people liked it. you have to decide if its for you. but dont drop the academics. AP classes are good for not having to take college courses (SCORE!) and dont drop musics. thats important too. but... if ur doing all that extra curricular stuff, it gets to be quite a load. that happened to me this year with all my classes, my job, the band, plays, friends, and all that stuff and it was way too much stress. you just have to find where you fit, and what works for you. try it all, and if it doesnt work, you have to choose what to cut out.
