I really miss trains. Do you have that? You get used to something from your childhood, or whenever (for me it was the five years or so right after high school), and then you go through the rest of your life feeling slightly out of place until, randomly, you hear/see/smell that familiar thing again and you just have to smile and think, "Ah. I understand, I grew up a mile or so from a major airport. I'd go to bed at night hearing the planes take off and land. Phone conversations would have to be put on hold because of the noise. And yet, it just became part of our lives, part of 'home'.

I hear you on that one. I never sleep as well as I do when I have the sounds of traffic going past my window. Ah, sweet mystery of comfort.

To me, it's the sound of rain on windows during the winter. I always sleep better with the rain. :)

Yes! Move to Seattle! We have all the best game systems and very nice summer climates! ;) But our baseball team kind of sucks right now. Sorry. :)

All of the trains moved to Japan. They now cruise up and down the track behind my house, rattling the whole building.

But I kind of like it. My teachers think I'm strange. :)
