Luke was still kind of pissed at Percy but he definitely didn't want to leave without saying anything after how their last conversation went. Percy could be as bitchy as he wanted to be but Luke knew he worried when he left.

"Hey, it's me. I'm spending the weekend with Kate and I should be back by Monday evening. And I'll take this chance to remind you that she has a boyfriend so please don't stab me and stuff my corpse under a bed when I get back, okay?"

His tone in the message probably indicated that he was still mad but, whatever, it still was the nice thing to do.
