I think it's because animating them jumping off buildings was cheaper to animate than them summoning Knights of the Round

It would have involved creating and rendering thirteen more unique and relatively detailed character models. Easier to work with what you have. Ditto fancy-pants magical explosions and such.

AT LEAST EVEN THAT WAS HINTED AT. EVEN IF THE HINTING WAS SO SUBTLE IT WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CATCH. BUT THERE WAS CONTINUITY.
