a world of miracles peeks out from under buildings, waiting in the dark,
pinching each other,

worried that we've forgotten they exist.

& will spend our lives pouring concrete foundations
& stubbornly, impatiently solving everything ourselves.

I need to clear my head; I got to sleep a little last night, but I have nightmares that I'm trapped.  I've been so panicky since Saturday, very jumpy at every little noise. the streetlamp in the park is bright. tonight i sat on the stone wall beneath it and i wondered what i would do if it fell. if the solid concrete pole tipped towards me and then came crashing down. Would i get out of the way in time, or would i just sit there, watching it, not believing my eyes.

Stats professor:
