Jensen has been awake for near half hour. Presently, he’s looking at Jared, his forearm pressing into the mattress, while his eyes track ever detail of Jared’s face. The nightmares hadn’t come, and he owed his thanks to the man currently trying to burrow closer to his body. Jensen smiles and gently brushes the bangs out of the younger man’s face before pressing a chaste kiss to his forehead, “Dormir bien, mon fantôme,” he whispers to Jared, half an inch from his skin. Carefully, Jensen extracts himself from the bed, moving slowly in hopes of not waking Jared.

He’s just putting a pot of coffee on when he hears footsteps stopping in front of him door, seconds before a knock is echoed through out the room. Glancing up at the clock and seeing that it’s only a little after five, Jensen begins to get upset. He was raised where no one paid a visit until well after noon. He knows it’s no one from his team, they all know to call this early if they need to come to his place. Jensen debates on not answering at all, when a much louder knock is abused into the door. Thinking about the sleeping man in his bed, Jensen moves from the counter and stands in front of the door. He disengages the two locks and opens the door to see a blonde hair man with cool blue eyes staring back at him. “Can I help you?” Jensen asks in a growl.

“Look I’m sorry for waking you up,” the man tells him, “But my friend Jared never came home last night, and this is the apartment he told me he’d be at.”

Jensen stares at the stranger. Jared hadn’t even been gone for a month, how could he had met someone that cared about him that much. “How long have you known Jared?” Jensen asks after finally deciding to say something and not just shut the door on the guy.

“Years,” the man answers, not thinking about answering for a second, “So where’s Jay. Don’t take this wrong, but he’s done some stupid shit for a hot guy before.”

“He’s still asleep,” Jensen tells the man, “What kind of stupid shit?”

“That’s none of your business,” Steve answers offhandedly, peering around Jensen in hopes of Jared appearing.

“Want some coffee?” Jensen sighs, deciding to play nice with Jared’s friend, not wanting to go so long again without seeing the younger man.

“Thanks,” he replies to Jensen, and walks through the doorway when Jensen opens it further, “My name’s Steve.”

“Jensen,” he introducing himself as he maneuvers to the coffee pot before taking two mugs down from the cabinet above it.

“Yea, I know,” Steve informs him, “You’re the bastard that hurt him, and refused the present he bought you.”

Jensen flushes red at the knowledge that someone outside of their team knows how horrid he’s treated Jared. He can vividly remember the brightly colored box that he had stumbled over the morning of his birthday. Just as well as he can remember dropping the gift on Jared before turning around and walking off. That had been the last time he had seen Jared prior to the night before.

Steve sips the burning liquid after Jensen deposits the mug in front of him. He’s eyes never move away from Jensen, causing Jensen to squirm in his seat. “Why didn’t you accept the gift?” Steve asks with open curiosity.

“Because I’m selfish,” Jensen tells him honestly. Steve stares at Jensen before he hums, nods his head and takes a drink of coffee.

Jared awakes alone in bed. At first he thinks he dreamed the night with Jensen. Up until the point he realizes he’s naked, and his clothes are no where around because he’s in Jensen’s room. With a sleepy smile, he pulls the sheet from the bed, knowing full well the look Jensen will give him for messing up his bed so much, but the team could be here, even if it is, Jared glances at the clock, going on nine. Wrapping the sheet around his waist, Jared opens the door, the smell of strong coffee hitting him before he makes his way towards the kitchen.

“Jensen,” Jared says stepping from the hallway into the kitchen, “Do you know where,” with a gasp, he jumps back into the hallway. He’s face shadows with a fierce blush, “Morning, Steve,” he calls into the kitchen.

“The great Jared Padalecki, embarrassed,” Steve laughs looking at the spot where Jared was before running back into the hall. “You do remember streaking your freshman year, don’t you?”

“Steve,” Jared groans, tightening his hold on the sheet.

“I’m just saying,” Steve replies as Jensen begins to laugh along with him, “I’ve done seen the merchandise.”

“You’re clothes are in the dryer,” Jensen says, inhaling deep breathes trying to stop his laughing, “I’ll get them and bring them to you in a second.” With that bit of good news, Jared retreats back into Jensen’s bedroom to hide out.

A few minutes later, Jared jumps when the door opens. “Sorry,” Jensen whispers across the room as he steps in and shuts the door back. Jared just shrugs from his place on the edge of the bed, the sheet still pooling around his waist. With a sigh, Jensen walks across the room, dropping the folded clothes beside of Jared on the bed before lowering himself down to the floor where he can look up at the younger man and actually see his eyes. “Listen,” Jensen tells him, resting his hands on Jared’s thighs. “Time got away from me, or I would have brought your clothes in before you woke up. I really am sorry you’re embarrassed.”

“Like Steve said,” Jared tells him, “He’s seen me naked, more times than you. It’d just’ve been nice to know he was here, before I made a fool out of myself.”

Jensen smiles, and ignores the jealousy growing in the pit of his stomach. He raises his arm, wrapping his hand around Jared’s neck and pulling him down to meet his lips. “Get dressed, Casper,” Jensen tells him, “You’re friend was worried about you and is now in the kitchen waiting for you to get dressed so he can visit with you.”

After a few minutes, Jensen remains on his knees, his fingers drawing smooth circles on Jared’s neck and hip. “You going to help me dress?” Jared asks smiling down at Jensen.

“Not on your life, Casper. That’s disgusting.” Jensen fake shudders with a grin before standing and leaving Jared to dress.
