Today the latest Adrien English book arrived at my house!

If you're not familiar, Adrien English is the main character in a series of M/M mysteries by Josh Lanyon. As I noted when I recced the series several years ago, I'm not into mysteries at all. But Adrien and Jake have become one of my all-time favorite fictional pairings. I reread the series ( Read more... )

The last time I reread I forced myself to read all of it, but who needs all that mystery getting in the way of nonstop Adrien and Jake? Haha. I love them so much.

You definitely have to get the new book. There's so much fan service in it. :D

I literally just left a comment to your comment in my Oscars post wondering if you had read it! It was such a satisfying read. I hope we will get to rivisit them every few years or so.

Prompted by this I actually went to re-read the entire series and I must tell you, I am still pissed off like hell at the way Jake treats Adrien (and then Kate) half the time. That third volume is almost unbearable. He redeems himself in the end, but boy, he puts Adrien through hell.

Adrien is an angel and saint to boot ;)

I hope we will get to rivisit them every few years or so.

I hope so too! Even if it's just another one of those little interviews or whatever.

I totally agree with you about the third book. I don't particularly like the mystery in that one either, so I often just skip it entirely when I reread. Jake is totally out of line. :(

I always liked that it took Adrien a while to fully accept Jake back.

Been craving some comfort reading lately. I think it's time for a reread of the series and the new one as a capper! Thanks for reminding me it had come out.

Isn't there something so satisfying about new book canon? It's a treat in the way tv isn't (to me at least). I feel entitled to tv; books are a blessing, each one. M.

So true -- especially when you have no idea the new book is coming! :)

I LOVE Adrien and Jake, and I loved the extra glimpse into their lives with the novella. They pop up very briefly in the Holmes and Moriarity series as well.

If you're into audiobooks at all, the audiobooks for the Adrien English series are absolute perfection. They are all available from Audible.

Ooh, did not know that about the Holmes and Moriarty series. I actually haven't read too many of Josh Lanyon's other books, though I know I should. There's just so many, and I'm not normally into mysteries. But I bet I would like them. :)

Thanks for the tip on the audio books! Tempting...

And hey, you! Good to hear from you. I've been on an original M/M binge, and I just reread a bunch of yours. I also realized I hadn't read Whitewater, so if you made like 50 cents last night, that was me, haha. I enjoyed it! ♥

Hey, I am so sorry it's taken me so long to reply to this comment! I suck 1000%. Thanks for reading Whitewater, and liking it, LOL. I am quite fond of that one myself ;)

As for the Josh Lanyon audiobooks, they are truly fab, so I don't think you'll regret it!
