Contemplating My Own Brexit

It's been an unsettling day which I have tried to quell by doing all the childish things - staying in bed, eating junk food, and am now drinking beer. But sooner or later I am going to have to face up to the fact that the UK, due to a campaign by some lying idiots, has elected to leave the EU ( Read more... )

I have a lot friends working in the UK who are starting to contemplate now. Mostly young scientists.

The world is going crazy, this so doesn't bode well for the US election...

I am still hopeful that Trump has no chance. What I really worry about is that Trump bows out for some reason (no money) and we get Cruz instead.

Oddly, I think Hillary would stand a better chance against Cruz. Trump doesn't give you any targets to hit, since he moves constantly. He's just a blur of stupid. Whereas Ted would stand still and try to be adamantine, and Hillary would take him to pieces.

I used to think it was impossible. Thought Trump was a present from heaven for the dems...but now...with everybody going crazy here in Europe... I'm loosing my confidence. The more stupid the more votes seems to be the credo these days.

I personally have walked barefoot on Irish soil and left the country. But it's possible my family has a special arrangement with the fae.

Scotland has 25 hours of sunlight every day in June and July, I'm pretty sure.

Wait, wait--Canada has a grudge against you? SHOULDN'T HAVE TALKED SMACK ABOUT POUTINE, CHANCE.

You don't have to move out of England immediately. You can wait until November 9th and see if the US is worth coming back to.

I have been assured by my family that this is a science fact, ergo you have never really been to Ireland or barefoot or something like that.

I bet you could design a kickass moon base that would meet all fire regulations, I would live there and do moon science.

All right, team MOON, population = 2. I shall pit Musk and Bezos against each other so they compete to give us transport.
