my dad sent these to me - tinks! i want my old plants here! i am lonely plant-wise, bean-wise, but not chunk-wise. i cant grow much here, even the cilantro is limp. my one lemon balm seedling also died, a new one popped up, but i dont know if anything can grow on the lanai - it doesnt get enough sun, it gets all wind, the ti plant looks thrashed ( Read more... ) -

natural skin care/tropic of cancer

back from kauai
back from 5-day trip to kauai, for the taguma-okamoto family reunion. made a trip to an arboretum, botanical garden, waterfall, and a canyon. i am up researching courses for school, and again wondering if i can somehow add the ethnobotany track into my schedule without keeping me in school too long. suddenly , i guess from being around so many ( Read more... ) -

leaving oakland wed and la mon for honolulu. i'ma lil delirious from packing and cant think none no more, but i can still upload photos, which is somewhat useful. o squash! i was able to pick one a few days ago and maybe will go back tomorrow to pick some more to take home and eat....and some basil too...

what's germinating?
Sunflowers of course! The ones I threw in the pots here germinated in a week, and the ones at home (in LA) took 9 days. Can't wait to watch these grow!
