A move in the right direction....
On Friday I was called into the pricipals office and asked to sit down. I was then offered the chance to take the teacher-librarian/resource manager position for the first semester of 2009. Second Life
I decided that I would give Second Life another go after reading a number of articles referring to its benefits for education and social interaction plus I have students at school who are considering giving it a go. Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Well, it finally happened. I have cut off my long hair.... and it feels good. The school was raising funds for Shave for a Cure and I was asked (as the long haired teacher) whether I would be willing to get my hair cut for this important cause, so I said that I would if the school (very small school) was able to raise $500. The Big Room Swap
Jean and I spent the day swapping our office (a small square room) with our housemate who had the front veranda to live in for the last 8 months. We talked about swapping a few days ago and it seemed like a really good idea so today was the test. Jean and I dropped in to Subway last night before going to a teacher's birthday from the school that I work at and I noticed that there was a few grasshoppers on our window. Busy Day...
It is amazing how quickly things can pile up at school, and how easy it is for Head of Departments to just give out work to do and make it sound that the work that they want you to do will only take a short time.
