Naaaa... we're both fucked. I'm not going to let one prophecy and one idea change my life. I will still try to be the best person I can until then and live my life to it's fullest either way. If the apocalypse does come, then I'll believe. If it's too late and I'll burn in hell, so be it. This was more of a joke than anything, but it could be along the lines of truth.
Some say the end is near Some say we'll see armageddon soon Certainly hope we will I sure could use a vacation from this Bullshit three ring circus side show Of freaks in this hopless fucking hole we call LA The only way to fix it is to flush it all away Any fucking time, any fucking day Learn to swim, see you down in Arizona Bay
Your post reminded me of that song.
And wouldn't it only be Pascal's Wager if he started beliving in God right now to avoid being sent to hell?
Good Tune. And that wouldn't exactly be the wager i'd be making. Right now I don't deny or accept god. I accept the idea as a possibility. If I get sent to hell, so be it, but at least I'll know the truth. And only when he shows himself and passes judgement on me shall I accept it as truth.
and there is born your problem. going by the biblical text, you are saved if you confess with your lips and believe in your heart. so by your claim you wouldnt believe in your heart until you were being judged, by which time it would be too late.
however, the thing i want to know about all that is how do we know what god/aliens/whatever will use as judgement criteria? it used to be that those who commited mortal sin were destined for hell and all others did a stint of purgatory before heaven. then it became sinners, then it became non-christians, then that divided by sect. so really, we have no idea what will happen.
Where did you find this, and why are you so concerned about it. If the apocalipse is coming, as you say it is, is that not more reason to be happy and to just relax? I was never much of a believer in prophecies anyways - they just always seemed too...convenient. Honestly, the words of the "prophets" are always so vague that they could mean absolutely anything. I would rather not spend my life trying to decide whether or not my neighbour is to be the father of the antichrist or what not. In my opinion, prophecies were made up by the paranoid to justify their meaningless fears.
Why does it necessarily have to be concern? I think it's more along the lines of curiosity/intrigue? If you don't question the world around you, you will go thru life knowing only what you are told. Do you like being a mindless vegetable? I don't.
Exactly! You are the only one who understood this whole thing. It was a whole mind process that was cranked out after researching a few prophecies. It was a crazy thought that I documented. I am crazy, but I don't believe that shit.. I merely was using my mind as I always do to create thought and to promote creativity in myself.
1. What if the Pope dies at some time other than 2012? 2. How did these aliens come into existence? 3. How can these aliens create an eternal "hell" if humans are not forever-living? 4. If these aliens are still living, and for some reason demand a "faith," why don't they show themselves and prove their existence to us? 5. Of the billions of planets in the universe, why would they care about preserving this particular one?

So did you start believing in Jeebus all of a sudden? Or are we getting slain together?
