Wow, whirlwind.

So, I'm back. Back from my 30th birthday adventure of 3 weeks crossing the Tien Shan in Kyrgyzstan near the Chinese western frontier on a horse with my buddy Simon. Oh the stories I have to tell. Future grandkids, thank me now as you're never going to get bored of me. In short, most awesome trip of a lifetime.

Rays of sun blasted through the storm clouds as we sailed classic Galatea through the swells and a translucent light mingled with the mist procrastinating in the pines of the Miramar hills above the Massey memorial. A most awesome weekend just reaching Sunday afternoon.

Yesterday morning started early with the New Yorker at Sweet Mothers for brunch followed by Si, Jo, Bron, and I heading out to ride horses along the Pencarow Headlands, guitar lessons with a guy named Tony from Oregon I want to befriend, jam session in the boat shed, and movie with Bron.

Life continues to fly by at a frightening speed but this Friday night I've found some peace in it, sailing a 98 year old racing yacht.

Nice sail tonight giving the rum racers a run for their money, getting the rail real wet with a tiller up in the guts as a southerly blew up out of Evan's Bay pulling us along like a knife through the water at sunset ( Read more... )

Work: got a few fires burning for new opportunities but these things take time to get the perfect fit. In the meantime, I've been handed what seems like an incredible opportunity where I currently work. My company consists of about seven different sub companies. Another night of swimming in the black murky cool still sea way past midnight. Swimming a quarter mile away from shore, the moonlight hoped for a ripple to dance along, while barely treading water I could see my feet reflecting the full moon six feet below the surface in the depths of darkness.
