I wore out my copy of Tighten Up Vol. 88 by early 1989. A couple of weeks ago, Stencil presented me with a CD to replace the now-long-lost cassette.
Lucky for me, you can't wear out a CD by playing certain tracks repeatedly.

I don't think you can really compare. The Clash, while they sound a bit old hat, now, were pretty fucking radical when they were brand new. Quickly, though, they had enough imitators that it's easy to forget what an impact they had at the time. Also, I think that B.A.D. really built on some of the musical ideas established by the Clash, so it's almost unfair to make a direct comparison.
All that said, let me just say that it isn't the Clash that is coming through my headphones at the moment....
