Libertarian cow : Abattoirs were originally for the treatment of sick cows not the wholesale slaughter for meat they have become.
Libertarian human : Governments were originally for the protection of the people not the corrupt special interests.

I haven't met any libertarian cows, so I can't comment on the first, but I don't know any libertarians who take the second position on history. The first governments were neither for the protection of the people nor for corrupt special interests, but were just a formalization of rule by whoever could swing a club most effectively. Corruption requires a more complex social order and showed up a bit later.
