What graphic novels have you been reading? Do you understand that I have two bookshelves totally filled with them? Do you comprehend that?
In other news tho, have you read any Bret Easton Ellis? He might be what your looking for. I reccomend "American Psycho", "Less Than Zero", "Rules Of Attraction" all very, very highly. Although you might want to read "Less than Zero" first only because "American Psycho" is a mission to read and "Zero" might give you a nice overview of how the man writes. Also be sure to check out Phillip K. Dick, most notably "Man In The High Castle", "Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said" and "A Scanner Darkly". Irvine Welsh never hurts either. -l-
YES YOU DID. THERRIEN HAS IT CONFIRMED. also, you should read journey to the end of the night by louis-ferdinand celine because i've had it for like two years and for some reason never read it. so let me know and then maybe i finally will.
^ shes right, the windup bird is really good, but its SUPER long. i actually just finished it last week. and be sure NOT to check out Philip K Dick, because he is in fact, a dick. my roommate made me read one of his crummy little books, and now i wish i could go through some "eternal sunshine" shit right now so i could have it erased from my memory, because i think it made me dumber after reading it. (sorry)
actually, just read old sameer live journal entries, because they are beyond every book mentioned.
Hmm...You and a girl have similar tastes...how strangebeatcamelJanuary 28 2005, 06:41:48 UTC
Sorry. Phillip K. Dick is probably the best american writer of the 20th century. Just because a bunch of kids didn't say it was great doesn't mean it sucks. Try it again when your older, someday it'll make sense. -l-

alright, im sorry for dissing. i read a really REALLY shitty book by him. my roomate has all of his books, so this week im gonna read "Ubick"? or soemthing like that, supposed to be really good. honestly, dont take my opinion on books/movies/music seriously. i only like old private detective books, weird exploitation movies, and japanese hardcore/german psych rock. so my opinions on things mean nothing. your a king.

Well I went to the library and cracked and got a bunch more graphic novels, which included:
Marvel Knights Daredevil: The Man With No Fear Route 666 Vol 1 Arkham Asylum: Hell on Earth The Maxx Vol 3
All were pretty awesome, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed The Daredevil one.
I also picked up Going After Cacciato by Tim O'Brien, The Lottery and Other Stories by Shirley Jackson, Declarations of Independence by Howard Zinn, and another Manga, Blade of The Immortal Vol 2. So I should be set for a while.
i think i may be the only person i know who didnt like the wind up bird chronicles. murakami did write this book on that sub way gassing in tokyo a while ago that sounds awesome
