But first, a kid moment.
Opal had a friend over today and they were having a grand time chasing the big sister.
They came up to me and O said, "Mommy, have you seen Alice?"
Me: "No. Have you?"
O: "No. We want to find her so we can drive her out of all Brittania."

???

Here is the house I am going to be moving into this summer.

my husband is staying here in the country, and the girls and I are moving. We will have to drive to see each other.
This is all to get the girls into better schools.

That is a beautiful, charming house! It seems to fit what I know of you, if that makes sense. :)

That WILL be a huge change, though. It will be fun!

That's such a cute house- i'm so impressed by how houses in America are made from wood. I hope that the move goes well and that you don't feel too hemmed in by city living.

that's funny that it would wood houses would be unususal! Of course on the other coast, I imagine one sees stone or brick houses more... we have lots of trees here, though.
One other thing. These wood houses don't last all that long, so a lot of old places don't exist anymore. Not that whites have been here that long anyway.
Astoria (where this house is) has had two major fires (long ago). Another thing about wood structures, and especially cedar...
