This is kind of ridiculous. And NO casting happened because I want to see any of them in a tac vest with a thigh holster, the suggestion is ludicrous.

He's not even supposed to be here! This was supposed to be his last offworld mission before returning to Earth, and the cushy desk job at the Pentagon with his name on it. So he grumbles like all the time, drinks all the alien hooch he can find, and is just a giant pain in the arse. But he's Scott Bakula, so who cares if he is?

This should totally be made into a show. It wouldn't even be as expensive as the other Stargate programs for SyFy to produce, because they're stuck on one world, without a gate or fancy ships for the special effects people to create. :)

They can gate travel! They just can't go to Atlantis, it's weird, and not much sense is made! But it doesn't have to. :)
