...but seeing as Jesus was Semitic, I don't understand the reasoning behind his "white" skin color. Technically, he'd be Caucaisian, I suppose, and he certainly wasn't black, but most Semitic people are darker than Europeans. The only thing that really changed that, I believe, is the Jewish Diaspora to Europe, which hadn't occured in Jesus's lifetime anyway.

Anyway, that's a really cute picture with your mom... and I'm begining to get the impression from many members in this community that I really must find a decent picture of myself before I make a post... better start rumaging through photo albums...

it's just that ... girl was SO wrong and misspelled SOSOOO many words, that i got reallypissed off..

Yeah, i think that jhughes said it best! But it depends, my Nana's neighbor is Israeli, and people always assume she's African American or Hispanic because she has very dark skin. She's not ethiopian or north african, she's 100% Israeli. It's almost impossible to say that any culture or country has a standard look, you know? Who knows what Jesus looked like? That girls comment was very ignorant, I know she was trying to be open minded but she came off as snotty and terribly misinformed to me! Her spelling errors and all...and like hell Madonna knows anything about culture!
