i wonder if calbee and nongshim have anything to do with the other. calbee is the producer of the exact same chips in japan, even with a similiar if not the exact same shrimp icon. :p i remember joe and i were pondering whether lotte was really korean or jpn, and it turned out it was a korean that had been born/raised in japan, or something like that. :p

I was wondering about whether they were related myself. I can not distinguish a difference but I think most stores in the area carry the Nongshim brand.

I think I always assumed Lotte was Korean, just because it was in this area and it seemed so unlike any other Japanese grocery store I have ever been in.

i think they carry nongshim b/c for some reason it's much cheaper
