Oh man. So I'm totally getting into D&D. I wouldn't say I was never interested- I even checked out games at the conventions my mom worked at long before I met LJ. But the fact that you had to make characters and join living greyhawk and the like scared me off. Plus, you need a million and one books

i used to play it back when i was, like, 10, and every now and then i get the urge to play again. and every time i get that urge i feel like a huge dork, even though i think it's perfectly alright and everything. i don't think of people who play it as dorks. well, some of them. but me playing it would make me feel like the king of dorks. it's like some weird secret.

uh, anyways, yeah. dichotomy. have fun!

Yeah, I get the feeling that I'm a huge dork. One time while at a bar with some people from work, they started talking about DnD. They thought you had to dress up and do weird things and I'm like "nonono", but I didn't tell them I played.
