After Jess' death Sam develops a horrible allergy to smoke and the smell of burning. It turns out to be psychological, but given the amount of burning things they do in their day to day lives, it's something of a problem. Dean has to figure out a way to fix his brother.

I had a really hard time with this one. The prompt is so "deep" - it does not lend itself to a simple 900 word oneshot. Although if I ever manage to write only 900 words in one story, I'll die of shock. I felt like it needed to be explored, so I knew the length was gonna be there.

As for the POV, it didn't even occur to me to write it in anything other than first person, Dean. It just camt out that way when I started it. It's the first time I've written Dean first person, so I'm glad it came across well.

My one complaint is the ending. I truly despise it. I'm going to get some distance from the story for a bit, then go back and try to redo it. I was hitting a roadblock there, and the ending shows it.
