Yeah, the other offer was already in. My timing was just off. :(
The one chance that remains is if the buyer is one of those "flipper" guys, I can go to him an offer him the same price, basically giving him a multi-thousand profit for NO work done in just a couple of days' time.
But there are other houses out there. The nice Realty lady said she would go by the house I actually *did* grow up in, and see if they had given any thoughts of selling...
That one, for me, would be the major get. A thousand extra square feet of floor space, a pool, a huge attached garage, also a big corner lot, and THAT one is one I *do* have a personal connection to. Of course, it would cost three times what I offered for the other one -- but there's a difference between occupied homes in their prime and foreclosed properties, so that's to be expected.
