good= assists in continued living
bad= interferes with living

If it reduces your chances of surviving and propagating, it's bad. And by propagating I don't just mean having kids.

what if, you think you're doing something that will assist in continued living, and then it turns out that it interferes with living in the long run?

i guess it's just living life & learning, but i wish i could foresee the future a little better sometimes.

That's the rub, isn't it?
I just like that definition of good and bad because it provides a biological imperative for morality, without any pesky religion.

If I want it, it's probably bad for me.

If I would rather avoid it, it's probably necessary to keep me alive.

Many things lead to death, but very few lead to life.

So
If you like it a lot
It's good for you.

Or something.

I think it depends on what your goals are. If your goal is to have tons of money, spending money unnecessarily is bad for you. If your goal is to be super fat, dieting is bad for you.
