Yes, I did find my car title for the insurance settlement (it was in one of two places I knew it could be). So, I got the payment Monday evening (1/14), and two days later I bought a car:

Of course the fire happened at the end of a move, wherein I put all my stuff in storage.

So, guess where I'll be spending the rest of my day. My phone's out, so don't bother calling. Grrr...

Well, thank goodness I put off changing our car insurance to Collision only; turns out we have comprehensive coverage. The claims ball is now in motion, and should pick up speed once we get past the holiday.
